Dropbox allows you to unlink or relink your device such as Mac computer, Windows computer, iOS device, Android device from Dropbox application or website. If you sign in with the same account, the Dropbox application will seamlessly resume syncing for the Dropbox folder in the existing location. If you change the location or name of the folder, then you need to select the location or manually merge the content of the folders.
If you link your Mac computer to a different account, then the Dropbox application will detect that another Dropbox folder already exists on the computer. A pop up window opens up. You will see two options i.e. 'Choose Another Location' or 'Install'.
Choose Another Location: This option will allow you to choose another location for the new Dropbox folder to the account which you are linking. You can choose this option, if you want your new Dropbox folder to be in a location different than your existing folder.
Install: You can choose this option, if you want your new Dropbox folder to be in the same location as your existing one. This will rename the existing Dropbox folder to 'Dropbox (Old) and will create a new 'Dropbox' folder for the account which you are currently linking.
