An ultra-creamy Lipstick formula with a smooth glide, bold colour payoff, full coverage and a semi-lustrous finish. Here are our dupes for MAC Blankety, which is a slightly warm-toned, medium beige with a pearl finish. It is a permanent lipstick that retails for $20.00 and contains 0.1 oz. MAC Lipstick in Blankety — a soft pinkish beige; MAC Lipstick in Cherish — a soft peachy beige; MAC Lipstick in Plink! — a warm seashell pink. The Lip Liners are great, but you might have to apply a lip balm to prep if it’s the middle of winter and your lips are super chapped.
The color nude can be a fairly broad term when referring to colors of lipsticks. Nudes can vary from the lightest of nudes like MAC’s ‘Fleshpot’, to deep-toned beiges like MAC’s ‘Velvet Teddy’.
I have always been preferential to MAC lipsticks and I’m not quite sure why. They are kind of in the middle price point, being more expensive and higher quality than drugstore brands, but still much more affordable than the higher-end brands such as NARS, YSL, etc. However, I personally find the quality to be just as good if not better than many designer lipsticks – so why pay more?
MAC is also consistently releasing new shades and collections, making it fun to collect them! Switching up the packaging and making certain colors limited-edition are also fun ways the brand spices things up.
Anyway, lets get down to business!
Mac Lipstick Blankety
I swatched a few of my favorite MAC nude lipsticks below and also provided their official shade description as well as their finish type. I also made some recommendations on what MAC lipliners to pair with some of the colors.
The Shades
1. MAC “Velvet Teddy”: Deep tone beige. Matte finish. ‘Velvet Teddy’ is definitely one of the trendy colors at the moment. I usually pair ‘Velvet Teddy’ with MAC’s ‘Stripdown’ liner. I love to line my entire lips with ‘Stripdown’ first and then add ‘Velvet Teddy’ over top to add a bit of dimension and help keep the color lasting all day long. I’ve also tried mixing ‘Faux’ (see below) with ‘Velvet Teddy’ to add a bit of warmth. Buy at AMAZON.
2. MAC “Faux”: Muted mauve-pink. Satin finish. ‘Faux’ is another trendy color at the moment, thanks to Miss Kylie Jenner! I love to pair ‘Faux’ with MAC’s ‘Whirl’ lipliner. Buy at AMAZON.
3. MAC “Blankety”: Soft pink beige. Amplified finish. This is my go-to shade when I’m looking for a very neutral lip. It’s not too light and not too dark. The only thing I would change is the finish, since it’s a tad too shiny for me. But other than that, I love this color! A great alternative to this color if you aren’t into the amplified finishes is MAC’s ‘Honeylove’. It has a matte finish and is a very neutral tone. Buy at AMAZON.
4. MAC “Hue”: Soft pale pink. Glaze finish. ‘Hue’ is like my go-to lipstick for office wear, interviews, etc. It’s super neutral and doesn’t add too much color to your lips. I normally don’t go for glaze finishes, but nude shades can totally pull them off! Buy AMAZON.
5. MAC “Creme Cup”: Light blue pink. Cremesheen finish. ‘Creme Cup’ looks more pink than nude, but when paired with the right liner it can be a very neutral shade. Since I have more pigmented lips, I love to line my lips with MAC’s ‘Naked’ liner (you can also use concealer), and then fill them in with ‘Creme Cup’ for a slight touch of color. It’s a cooler-toned pink, and has a creme sheen finish, so it’s not too drying when worn over the lip liner. Buy at AMAZON.
6. MAC “Creme d’ Nude”: Pale muted peach beige. Cremesheen finish. ‘Creme d’ Nude’ is one of MAC’s most popular nudes (it’s even in the name!). Like Blankety, it’s a go-to classic nude shades, although this one has much less pink in it. It’s a great color to wear with smoky eyes and I personally love to pair it with MAC’s ‘Subculture’ lip liner. Buy at AMAZON.
7. MAC “Fleshpot”: Pale muted pinky-beige. Satin finish. I know this shade is SO light, but I’ve always had a special place in my heart for ‘Fleshpot’! A few years ago when Kim Kardashian made the nude lip a thing, ‘Fleshpot’ was my favorite lipstick in the world and I couldn’t get enough of it. I love that it has pink undertones in it, because it makes it a bit easier to pull off, especially if you’re paler. As you can probably guess, this shade is paired perfectly with MAC’s ‘Naked’ liner. Buy at AMAZON.

I don’t know what it is about MAC lipsticks that cause me to go weak at the knees. Every time I pass a MAC counter, I just can’t pass by without going into a lipstick swatching frenzy whilst making a metal list of what shades I need to add to my collection next (Viva Glam II and Half n Half, I have my eyes on you).
In this video I share with you my current 5 favourite MAC lipsticks – the shades that I get the most wear out of. For those that find swatches useful like myself, I hope this video and the photographs in this post help you out when deciding which shade to pick up next. I’ve included a brief description of each of the shades here but for more information, make sure you check out the video.
Mac Blankety Lip Liner Lipstick
Cosmo – Amplified
A warm, mid-tone peachy pink with a sheeny finish. It’s super comfortable to wear, packed with pigment and full opacity is easily achieved with one layer.
Fast Play – Amplified A neutral, mid tone mauvy pink with a satin finish (slightly more deeper than Cosmo). Again, the Amplified finish is super comfortable to wear, has incredible colour payoff and full opacity is achieved with a single layer.
Twig- Satin Very similar to Fast Play although it has less of a sheen due to it’s Satin finish and pulls more of a plummy pink whereas Fast Play pulls more brown by comparison. It’s comfortable to wear with slightly less slip than the Amplified finishes. The shade is pigmented and a full even coverage is achieved with one layer.
Blankety – Amplified A very light, beigy, pink nude with a sheeny finish. Despite how light it is, it still packs a punch in the pigment department and glides on effortlessly. It feels very creamy and nourishing on the lips. As this is rather on the light side, I like to wear it with a darker lip liner especially Mac’s lip liner in Stripdown.
Velvet Teddy – Matte A warm, muted, mid-tone peachy brown with a matte finish. This shade is probably the closest to my natural lip colour out of all the shades which surprises me. Although matte, it’s not dry and applies just as well as the other formulas. It actually has a similar texture to the Satin finish formula with just a tad less shine. It’s not as flat as a matte liquid lipstick. This is your entry level brown.
